Life Magazine's Thousands of Photos on Laos

Photo Credit:  John Dominis, Life Magazine, 1961

Back in 2008, Life Magazine, a once famous but now defunct American magazine, in partnership with Google had their photographic library digitally archived and shared online to Google's Cultural Institute.

More than 3000 Lao related photos were shared on there by Life.  The images and pictures often depict diplomatic visits, war and conflict, individuals of importance and daily life.

Some examples include the one shown above of Prince Boun Oum (of Champasak) riding an elephant at the Wat Phu Festival.  Photographed by John Dominis for Life Magazine in 1961.

And in the example show below, we have a rare photo of Laos peace talks being discussed.
