Tourist dies at popular gibbon zipline park in Laos

A traveller has died ziplining at the Gibbon Experience forest camp in Laos.
The person, thought to be American, was at the remote attraction popular with backpackers travelling on a budget through South-East Asia. It boasts some of the world’s highest and longest ziplines, with the largest reaching 1,870ft across a forested valley in the north-west of the country, close to the border with Thailand.

Lao Government Auctions Luxury Cars in a Bid to Cut Costs, Reduce Corruption

The Lao government has auctioned 14 luxury cars previously used by the country’s leaders in its latest effort to cut costs and rein in corruption in the impoverished nation by getting rid of pricey autos that high-ranking officials had been using for free for official and personal business.
