Winners of the 7th Vientianale International Film Festival 2017

The 7th Vientianale recently completed during March 22-26, 2017.  During Vientiane's premier annual international film festival this year, 10 winners were selected among the 41 brand new Lao short films from both Lao and international film makers that had been showcased.  The films were screened at a location along kaemkong and at the Cinema Department.

The winners were judged and selected by a panel of 6 judges involved in film and cinematography.

Best Film Winner - Chan Keo by Sonepasith Phonphila
Best Film 2nd Prize - Indee Killer by Xam Keodouangdy
Best Film 3rd Price - The Last Conversation by Thavisub Khamphoumee
Best Director - Houmphanh Phahongchanh (for the film Looking For...)
Best Actor - Mr. Sanon Manyphon (for his role in Chan Keo)
Best Actress - Ms. Phongnern (for her role in The Last Conversation)
Best Original Screenplay - Sinh's Papaya Salad by Soukthavone Phanyaphone
Best Editing - Indee Killer by Xam Keodouangdy
Best Sound - The Last Conversation by Thavisub Khamphoomee
Lao New Wave Award - Sinh's Papaya Salad by Soukthavone Phanyaphone
