Even at the age of 66, he admits that he still has the thirst and desire to learn different artistic styles and techniques. Meet Mr. Anoulom Souvandouane.
He was originally from Savannakhet and born in 1959. In the video shared by the XYZ Arts Center in Vientiane, he shares his thoughts and compares how drawing, art, and graphic design compare to today saying how difficult and challenging things were in the past.
One of his desires is that he wants the younger generation to utilize what he's learned and experienced. And indeed, his legacy is in his art teachings and artworks.
On the topic of having been one of the key artists working on the Lao currency bank notes during the post-revolutionary period, he admits that at the time he didn't appreciate how important that work was. At the time, he saw it merely as a job. In the interview he reflects on this and admits that he now recognizes the importance of how national currency contributes towards a nation's history.
